Can I Have It?

Most people have seen the Mad TV Video "Can I Have It?" (If not it's posted above) this is one thing I really can’t stand. For example, the other day in Physics, no names added, this girl walked in with a bunch of cookies. As soon as one of the boys saw she had them he asked for one. She said no because she only had enough for her close friends and teachers. "But, can I have one? Please, just one?" she still said no and he asked again! If you don’t get the point you’re not getting one then you must really be an idiot. No offence to anyone. It’s just so annoying when someone says no but you just have to keep asking.

Rejection

One of my biggest fears in life is rejection. I have only been rejected a few times but it hurts more and more each time. Your probably wondering why I’m writing about my fear this week when my blog is about things that make me mad. Well it just so happens that my fear is the reason for my frustration.

Have you ever liked someone that didn’t like you back? Have you ever wanted to be with that one person but they didn’t want you at all? I got a little taste of that this past Saturday.

This guy that I happen to like asked me on a date. We went to the movies, and hung out. It was a lot of fun. At the end of our date he kissed me! Well the night after that I found out he had a girlfriend. That was fine with me, but the part that wasn’t alright was when I found out he asked her out 5 hours after our date. He knew he would be asking her out and he still did it anyway. To me that is the worse rejection you can face. I just don’t understand why some guys treat girls like trash. I know not all guys do but all the ones I have encountered have been that way. They put a "spell" on girls just to make them fall, and when they have, they crush them. We can’t help but still think about them and if it was us that made it go wrong. It maybe be our fault but most of the time the guy doesn’t care. They think it’s just another rejection, but it’s so much more.

The Cell Phone Lip Reading

Photobucket

When I take an order out to a car and the person is on their cell phone I try to be nice and talk a little softer than normal. Most people will say, "Hold on" and then talk with me and its over. There are still those people who try to get their food and continue their conversation at the same time. It usually ends up with them "lip talking" to me. Well a couple of years ago I was diagnosed as partially deaf. This is bad because I can’t read lips so when people do that I can’t help but talk louder to try and hear them. Then they get mad at me for ruining their conversation. Why can they not take two minuets out of their call to take their food? It’s just common since.

Suggestive Sales

Photobucket

I have worked at Sonic for a year. Every time I answer the speaker I say the same thing. "Thank you for choosing Sonic, this is Allison, how can I help you?" Normally people will tell me their order, I will tell them their total and it will be fine. But I always get those customers that are in a bad mood. They start yelling through the speaker, cuss me out cause I didn’t hear what they said because they were yelling. It's just bad sometimes. When I finish taking their order I have to make a suggestive sale. "Your total will be 13.27. Would you like to add cheese sticks or cheddar peppers to your order?" "NO! Nothing else." Is what I get in response. It makes me so mad when people say that. Can they not just say "No thank you." Why do people not understand it's a part of my job. I’m not just saying it to waste my breath or rip you off. I'm just trying to do my job to the best of my ability.

Bumper Cars in the Halls

I am a senior at MacArthur High School. I don’t know if you other students see this but I know I have not only seen it but experienced it for the past four years. So, the bell rings, I get my backpack and start to walk down the hall to my next class. I’m walking in a straight line when all of a sudden someone runs straight into me! I look back to see who it was and that person is giving me the evil eye like it was my fault! I want to say, “Don’t look at me like that I was walking straight. You ran into me.” But I never do. I just roll my eyes and keep walking. I hate it when people don’t give you enough courtesy to say sorry. It was an accident, I’m not going to get mad cause you ran into me but the least a person can do is apologize.

Eye Contact

Photobucket

It makes me so mad when you’re talking to someone and they don't make eye contact with you. How are you supposed to know if they're listening? They could be thinking about a boy/girl, this weekend, or what they are going to have for dinner tonight. You never know! To me it is one of the rudest things you could do. When you have eye contact with someone it shows you are indulged in their conversation, and then it doesn't make them feel like they are talking to a brick wall.
